COLLEGE RECRUITMENT

At Cape Ann FHC our players don’t need to sign up for any recruiting services throughout their time with the club. If you are an Annual Member in either our Travel or Academy Programs, you have access to the best network in New England to help connect you with the right college programs! You have unlimited access to Coach Pothier, who has coached at all various levels of collegiate field hockey, played and coached for the USA Men’s National Senior & Junior teams along with coaching club hockey since 2006. His vast network with top coaches in all three divisions helps guide his players to great programs where they will succeed and enjoy over the course of four years.

HOW DO WE MANAGE THE RECRUITING PROCESS AT CAPE ANN?

 

  • On-Going Player Rankings by Year of Graduation & Position. This helps with providing college coach inquires with player recommendations that fit their needs and program.
  • Player Dash Profiles – Streamlined profile to load up videos, transcripts & schedule!
  • Individual Recruiting Folders – Google Drive – Every player, when they start their Recruiting Process, Freshman-Sophomore-Junior year, will be assigned a folder where we will share resources, template letters & an on-going college wish list that Coach Pothier will constantly be updating and communicating with our players until we find the right match.
  • On-Going Player Event calendar where we will track as many college tournaments, clinics and summer camps and keep track of where are players have gone, are going or need to go to in order to fulfill their commitment to finding the right program!
  • Recruiting Seminars, via Zoom, leading up to the Spring season. We will go over the process, our philosophy and speak on what to expect in our spring programs as we prepare for Regional Club Championships, Shooting Star Showcase and the Winter season.
  • Leading up to certain events, Coach Pothier will be reaching out to college coaches on their behalf in accordance with the NCAA Compliance rules as they do not allow college coaches to communicate back with players until June 15th of their Junior year.
  • Unlimited access to Coach Pothier with guidance for both parents & players through the process.
